Elizabeth M Palmer
« on: Wednesday 11 March 15 00:28 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information to what possibly could have happened to Elizabeth M Palmer  i believe she was born  in Newbottle Durham in 1910.  So some reason she ended  up in Swansea Wales .

She married Lionel P Sayer other wise known as Leonard P Sayers on 10th June 1929  in Wales ( i have the marriage certificate)  in September quarter  1929 In Swansea  gave birth to a daughter Mary  A Sayers.    Lionel has quite the history and Elizabeth was his third wife  neither of the previous wives was there ever a divorce,Lionel also was a deserter of the army .  I do not know what happened to Elizabeth or the daughter as by 1931  Lionel was married again.
I would like to know what happened did they die , move  did Mary A Marry and have children?

I have posted other messages about Lionel just trying to fine tune my findings and wondering what happened  to some of his wives and children

Any assistance appreciated

Karen,

How sure are you that the Elizabeth M Palmer from Durham is the same one that marries Leonard Sayers? I only ask as there are more than a few Elizabeth M Palmers born around 1910/11/12.

You have the wedding cert.  Are there any witnesses listed on it or any other details that can help?

Thank you for your  response
I  have the marriage certificate  Elizabeth Mary Palmer is 19  Living in Swansea  in the same home as Lionel father is listed as George Palmer  Blacksmith
The witnesses were M Bennett and R Bennett  Marriage took place in 1929

I looked through census   for  a Elizabeth Palmer with father George Blacksmith
I found tis in Newbottle Durham
George Palmer Widow 49
Son Robert 20
James 15
Katherine Palmer mother 69
James Palmer brother 37
Mary Ellen Palmer Sister 35
Elizabeth Palmer  daughter 10 months
then afamily of Brown as boarders
So is Elizabeth Palmer the daughter on George or the daughter of Mary Ellen

Wondered after Leonard left  did she go  newbottle Durham?

Hi,

The 1911 census actually states that Elizabeth is daughter to the "Head" and that seems to be George.
Still not proven that the Elizabeth in Durham is one of the same as the Wales one.  More likely now as her father George is listed as Blacksmith in both the census and her marriage cert.  Both areas were mining locations back then and on the census it lists his work place as a "Lambton Colliery".

There is a death record for Elizabeth Sayers b 27 Jul 1910 d 1984 in Newcastle.  Might be her?
