Hello all,

I know the approximate date of this class photo as being about 1888.  I have a series of these, but will only post one right now.  If there's anyone out there who can also help identify the school and any individuals, that would be fantastic.

Here's what I know.  It belonged to my great grandmother Minnie Isobel Banks.  It's from Revere MA.  The time my great grandmother lived in Revere is from about 1887 - 1892.  However, she would be about 17 in 1887, so my guess is that the photo is from 1888.  I do not know which photo is my great grandmother either.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.  The clothes from this dated photo may also be used to help date other photos from this time period.

If anyone is interested in seeing the whole album, you can view it at

Hi Jim

Are you able to just scan the one photo at 300dpi?

There isn't very much to work with and if you scan just the one area, we might be able to get a clearer image as there is detail in the photo.

I've had a quick play and added texture which I don't like doing, but it's a quick fix and a bit of cheat as it hides flaws, but I'm sure we can get a better result if you can give us a better scan.

Kind regards
Caz

Hi Caz,

Thank you for the restored photo.  The next time I have the album (its at my moms house), I will scan the individual photos at a higher resolution.  I thought these were already scanned at 300 dpi.  These photos are extremely small.  They are mini tin types of about 1 inch by 1.5 inches.
