SCRANTON PA BIRTH RECORD

I live in the UK and wondered if anybody could help me confirm a birth date for one of my ancestors.

Her name was Alice Mary Whittington and she was born in Scranton PA between October 1884 and January 1885  -  possibly in November 1884, but I can't be certain.  Her parents were Richard and Alice.

If anybody can help at all I would be most grateful.

There is a Scranton birth index here - http://grsnp.org/wordpress/scrantonbirths/ - but I don't see her on there.

That's a bit of a mystery as she was definitely born in Scranton,

Registering the birth may not have been required at that time.  It's also not clear if the index covers 100% of the birth from that time.
