great-great grandmother Katherine Kreier, Germany/ 1860's

I've just received a digital photo of a photo that shows my great-great grandmother together with her mother.
It's in pretty bad shape, but as this is the only photo I have of her, is there any chance to improve the photo a little?

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!
