Cartwright
« on: Wednesday 25 March 15 03:12 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information on John Henry Cartwright, who was born c.1824 and his wife Ann (Wood) Cartwright born c.1823 in Birmingham. I have been unable to find a record of John's birth/baptism. (Ann was born Dec. 29, 1823. Her parents are Martha Dewsbury and Joshua Wood.) John's parents are James Cartwright and Maria Bartholomew. I am also looking for information on their deaths. The last record I have of them is the 1901 Census, when they were both approximately 77 years old.

James Cartwright (bachelor)married Maria Bartholomew 1822 and Maria was a widow (Possible maiden name of Taylor)

Where did you find John's middle name as Henry ?
He doesn't seem to use middle name on census or marriage??

Thank you for your help. As Alders suggested, John did have a sister named Emma, who is listed in the 1841 census with a DOB abt. 1829. John is listed in the same census, with a DOB abt. 1826. I will check the ref. suggested by MargoP -- it seems quite likely that it is the DC for Ann. Suzard is right about the James Cartwright and Maria Bartholomew ref. (I have just finished verifying the marriage). The name James Henry is a family reference, and probably incorrect.
