Oh no, never.   ;D

It does appear that Hamilton Steward from the 1851 census was his father, doesn't it?

The last bit from the second book is "...His [Rev. Stuart] lineage is noble, as his family is in the direct line of the Scotch Stuarts..."  Whether or not this is true - ??

Jacquie, without your help, I don't think I ever would have put the puzzle pieces together.  I can't thank you enough.   :)

I hoping that marriage for Stewart/Goheen is a different Sarah. From what I can find he was married 5 or 6 times (one marriage registration indicates it wasn't returned so I don't know if I should count it). Sarah's 1889 marriage was his 3rd and there was another marriage in 1891 in Michigan as well as 1910 (the one that wasn't returned) and 1913.  :o

Oh my.   :-\  I wonder if the wives passed away?
----------------------
As I've been looking around, I bumped into previously found information:
Bernard Fowley, born 1787, Manorhamilton, County Leitrim, Ireland
Died April 10, 1875.  Buried Christ Church Cemetery, Woodbridge, Ontario

My ancestor, James Stuart (possibly the brother of Hamilton Stewart), was married to Sarah Fowley (born c1819, Sligo, Ireland).  I wonder if Sarah's family could have come from Manorhamilton?  Fowley was not a common name - seems strange that Manorhamilton was mentioned again (after finding that some of the Stewarts were born there).

A James and Sarah Steward were listed on the same census page as Hamilton Steward in 1851.  I believe James and Sarah were my Stuarts, who were later found in Etobicoke and eventually their children were in Toronto.  As I mentioned previously, there were a lot of documents supporting the fact that the Stuart men were most likely brothers.
