Lookup Request, Marriage 1806, Bedwellty, Monmouthshire, Wales

I am hoping that someone can help by finding details of a marriage between Sarah Jane HAYES, and William DAVIES, Jul/Aug/Sept 1806 in Bedwellty, Monmouthshire. (Vol 11A, Page 172).

I would like to know all the extra info shown on the marriage cert. to prove that I am have the correct couple.

William Davies 28 Father John Davies
Sarah Jane Hayes 32 Father John Davies
29th September 1906 Nant-Y-Glo, Monmouthshire

Sorry, yes my mistake, should read 1906.  With regard to the transcription, are you sure that Sarah Hayes's father is also John Davies?, which would imply that she has been married to a Mr Hayes but was born Davies.  I was also hoping for the grooms occupation, but may have to order the marriage certificate to find this.

Hi I think possibly the purchase of the marriage certificate could be your only option, I initially thought it odd that their were 2 father's called John Davies, but as this is in Wales and with a possible remarriage for Sarah Jane due to her age then it was a possibility?
In saying that given her age does the marriage fit with your expectaions of her?

PS have you found them on the 1911 census?

Yes the ages both fit, and the grooms father fits, also the 1911 return gives this as the correct timeframe for the marriage, it looks fairly likely that this is the marriage that I am looking for.  The bride's age is unusual for a first marriage, so maybe it is the second one.

Hi again, as you have the 1911 census, can you give details of Sarah Jane eg year of birth and place of birth please?

Sarah Jane (presumably Davies or Davis) was born in Abertillery in about 1875 according to the cencus.

I think you will find that the transcribers have entered the Groom's fathers name, instead of the Bride's father, in many of the early transcriptions, why I don't know Rowley
