living person search
« on: Saturday 28 March 15 19:16 GMT (UK) »
hi
ive been doing my family tree and trying to find my dad. he is/was  and was born in Rotherham but I have traced him to Grimsby 2002 electoral roll and now got nothing. so that's 13 years ago and no record after that, but no death found either. he was born 1945 . any ideas where to find him, or even what authorities might be able to help?
thanks, angie.

You need to remove his name, or a mod will I'm afraid, as he may still be alive and it is Rootschat policy not to name any living or possibly living people.

It is possible that he is still at the same address but has just chosen to not have his name on the published electoral roll after 2002. Anyone looking for me would find the same. You could send a carefully worded letter to that address, even if he has moved they might know something.

Have you tried looking on social media sites such as Facebook?

The man who is now living at the address in Grimbsy has been there since 2002 so may have an old forwarding address.

You can use 192.com to get his name.

Do a "google search" with your fathers name and Grimsby and this other man is also listed as a 192.com result.

If you go directly through 192.com you need a subscription to get the extra info.

Have you tried looking for his brother to see if he can put you in touch?

A copy of his 1982 marriage certificate might give clues

Hi
thanks for all your help. I did try 4 people on social media but none of them have replied, but then I didn't say what I was actually trying to find this man for. so they might just think i'm a crank. ive tried 192 and got an old address for the brother, retired. looks like i'm going to have to do it that way. thankyou all so much. angie x

hi
just thought I would let you know it cost me £18 to get the same information on 192.com as they give you for free. not one piece of information that is any use, beware what you click on.
