Frederick Oswald Farrell
« on: Monday 30 March 15 09:57 BST (UK) »
Doing some research for my grandson's school homework and we want to find out about the grandfather he never knew. All I have is Frederick Oswald Farrell believed to have been born around 1930 in Nottingham.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I had seen this particular entry but dismissed it as he died in 1995 ( I think)
I actually met Frederick, (he was known as Ricky) several times up to his death in 2010. My son in law has very vague recollections about his family.

It's probably a good idea to purchase his marriage certificate, as that will give you his father's name?

I can see a few potential marriages!

Sept qtr 1951, Hammersmith
Marina F Mauger to Frederick O Farrell/Oswald Smith :-\

Sept qtr 1956, Hammersmith
Daphne A Brinton to Frederick O Farrell

March qtr 1964, Wirral
Frederick O Farrell to Joan A Evans

The one I am after is FO Farrell marriage to Joan A Evans.
For my grandson the tree does not need to be too detailed, I will get hold of the cert.
Many thanks.

Once you know his father's name, there is a good chance of finding a marriage for Frederick's parents.

In Family History, probably the worst period to research is the last 100 years!
We are reliant on Birth, Marriage & Death Registers and, where available, Electoral Rolls (Voter's Lists).

Good hunting! ;D

Researching my mother's family and and came across your post.
The Frederick Oswald Farrell you were researching was my father, who I grew up with.
If you still want to learn more about him let me know.
