Just so we aren't confused National Archive Canada was renamed to LAC (Library and
Archives Canada)

LAC is in the process of digitizing all WW1 complete service files and they will be available
for free. So.....some luck for you, his complete file has been digitized  You can see his

Hi

John William Butcher obituary in the Toronto Star, March 20, 1936, page 30.  It says he died at the Toronto Western Hospital on Friday, March 20, 1936.  Husband of Minnie Breckles.  Funeral on Monday, from his late residence, 1 Ivy Avenue, to St Johns Cemetery.  South Staffordshire papers please copy.

Minnie's obituary in the Toronto Star on July 11, 1949  page 24.

 She died at the Toronto East General Hospital on Saturday, July 9, 1949.  Minnie Breckles, wife of the late John William Butcher, 1 Ivy Avenue.   Mother of Lillian May (Mrs T Merchant), Eliza (Mrs H Anderson), Amy Constance (Mrs S Clute), George, James and Laura Lee (Mrs E. Scanlon).  Funeral on Tuesday, interment at St Johns Norway Cemetery.

Lillian's obit is in the Toronto Star on November 17, 1978, page C21.  She died at Scarborough Centenary Hospital on Nov 16, 1978.  Wife of the late Thomas.  Mother of Ken, Jack and Lillian (Mrs Wm Coombs).  Had 5 grandchildren.  Interment Pine Hills Cemetery.
