I think the women on the left and right resemble each other facially. Mother daughter or 2 sisters?

They do have similar angular features, but hard to really tell their ages, however you could be right.

That entrance looks continental to me. I have a book listing all the castles, manor houses etc which were destroyed in WW1 in the Ypres area.Each one with photographs before and after.
Could that be a possibility?
Many were commandeered as Headquarters by each side consequently they were prime targets .Most were totally destroyed.

My thoughts too, when I first looked at the photo.  I'd say mother & daughter, though could be sisters if from a big family (e.g. oldest & youngest)

Now can you please explain how you found it? (Always keen to know the processes involved,  ;))

Such a shame it is lost though.  :'(

Added: It actually looks nicer from the rear view than the front. Sadly Jool's link gives plenty of background to the family so no fun for the rootschatters to try to chase them up.
