In relation to Mary Jean/Jane McDonald..On her birth certificate, which I have..is Mary JANE..but as my grandmother, we all knew her as Mary JEAN..She called her first born "Alma JEAN" Adams...On her tombstone it is Mary JEAN Adams..and, on her fathers (Donald McDonald) death notice, he names his daughters and calls her Mary Jean...so my guess is that being a Scott..his accent would have sounded like "Jane" when he recorded the birth...
