Does this look like 'felony in lopping a maiden Ash'?

He got 6 months only to be interfering with maidens of the more feminine kind a few years later and getting 3 months for fathering a bastard child....

thanks Joy

When I first read it I think i saw lopping as stopping and maiden as in female....then worked out it might be to do with trees  ;D

other evidence suggests three of them were jailed for the same offence at the same time...must have been a big tree  ;D

Have you checked that there was no young lady with surname Ash in the vicinity at that time?

If there is a Miss Ash who was lopped its a very colourful way of putting it...honestly did think it was talking about a woman at the time so you never know!

Even today it is illegal to cut down, prune, or damage a tree protected by a Tree Preservation Order . The unauthorised lopping or felling of a tree is a serious criminal offence and can result in a large fine and a criminal record.
