Electoral Roll for Lanarkshire
« on: Wednesday 22 April 15 22:20 BST (UK) »
Dear All,

I'm not sure if anyone can help or if records are available but I'm trying to find out where my late Mother was working between 1933 & 1936.  Her name was Agnes Dickson Muirhead aka Nancy.  She was born in Carluke and all I know is that she was in service in a big house.  I know it's not much to go on but maybe someone will know

I don't even know what town she worked in but she had a baby in Bellshill County Hospital in 1935.

I don't know what information would be required to find out so hopefully someone can tell me who to contact.

Evelyn  :)

Evelyn,

If you are trying to find out who the child's father was you would need to order her birth from Scot's People http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk at a cost of £12

Don
I have turned off all email notifications, thank you.

Don

I already have the birth certificate and it does NOT say who the father is.  The baby was adopted
That wasn't my question Don.
It's my Mother I'm trying to find out about.

If she was under 21 at the time she wouldn't have been eligible to vote.
The hospital in Bellshill was the maternity hospital for the whole county, so she could have lived anywhere within Lanarkshire. Glasgow city had its own maternity hospital.
Paterson, Torrance, Gilchrist - Hamilton Lanarkshire.

Thanks Lodger.  You've been very helpful.  As I said, I have no idea where she worked at that time.  All I know is that at some point before 1942 she lived in Summerlee Road, Wishaw
