St Mary Magdalen, Oxford - marriage look-up
« on: Friday 01 May 15 13:45 BST (UK) »
If anyone has access to the marriage registers for St Mary Magdalen, Oxford, I should be grateful if you could search for the marriage of Richard Reeves to Emma Woodbridge that I believe took place on 24 October 1842.  I'm interested to know whether Richard is listed as a bachelor or a widower.

Many thanks

Doug

Hi Doug :)

From St Mary Magdalen PRs as transcribed by OFHS on their CD OX-03:

1842 Oct 24
REEVES  Richard Augustine   fa   wdr   coach maker   otp   s. Richard REEVES, deceased
WOODBRIDGE  Emma   fa   sp   otp   d. Thomas WOODBRIDGE, harness maker
Wits:  James BARNES    Emily BARNES            Banns

I think that answers your question – or does it just raise more? :)

There's also what looks like a re-marriage for Emma's father in 1844.  Would you like that too?  (Not immediately as I'll be asleep soon.)
