I prefer, at least initially,  to ask for a steer and work it out myself,

We can only really give you a steer to find it on ancestry if we know who it is you have found on FindMyPast

Sorry to keep all you very helpful folk waiting for a reply, early night last night!

PaulineJ - Had looked at the NA.  Only gives the subseries within the Oldham Reg Dist that I can't correlate with the EDs.

BumbleB - Didn't try the library for a look at the FindMyPast data, thanks for that idea.

To those who kindly volunteered to cross check FindMyPast against Ancestry, here is what I am looking for.  Just to clarify, I find them listed on FindMyPast but cannot find them on Ancestry.

Surname Green.  All born Oldham and living Oldham.  Names John 1834, Mary 1832, (both born Keighley) Alice M 1870, Annie A 1873 )both born Oldham).  Another family member Percy C 1876 IS findable on both sites, he living with Uncle and Aunt so not with siblings.

Thanks for help so far.

Well, I couldn't find the piece number in an Ancestry search, so yes, it may be missing

The details in the FindMyPast census record I found differs from your description though. I'll leave that for your trip to the library  :)

Middlesex: KING,  MUMFORD, COOK, ROUSE, GOODALL, BROWN
Oxford: MATTHEWS, MOSS
Kent: SPOONER, THOMAS, KILLICK, COLLINS
Cambs: PRIGG, LEACH
Hants: FOSTER

Oh, and if I'm looking at the right record, there's a 15yo Percy C in it as well

I obviously didn't explain myself well enough, but you'll see what I meant at the library... :)

Thanks Bob, noted for possible future reference.

StevieSteve - back from the library, our county doesn't have FindMyPast!

I think I've exhausted all the DIY methods (short of taking a FindMyPast sub) so perhaps I could take advantage of kind offers of look ups made earlier?  See edit earlier post.  John and Mary were born Keighley!

General info.  - not just for Max :) - but I'll use his example of Oldham ....

If I enter Oldham in the search fbox, I get 3 entries, all from RD469. This is also a link, and if I click here, I get 7 entries.  So if I can't find someone directly in Oldham, then I might just find them nearby ...

regards,
Bob
