I am trying to find information on the home guard in Hull and Sutton as my father was in it but I have no knowledge about at all

Do you have access to on line newspapers at Find My Past or British Newspaper Archive - both are subscription sites?

Searching for "Hull Home Guard" returned 112 hits/items.

Google "British Newspaper Archive" and use the free search facility to get a flavour of what's there.

I would also love to see the Hedon home guard picture James.   My great grandfather was a Fire Warden in Hedon WW2 and had family there.
