John Coates - 1851 census please

John Coates was born in Beverley in 1793.  I've found him in 1841 census aged 45 living in Hull with wife Mary born 1801, Daughters Jane 1831 & Elizabeth 1834
Sons Robert 1835, Richard 1838 & George 1840

In 1861 he is still living in Hull aged 67 with wife Mary aged 61

I can't seem to find him in the 1851 census

Which children have you found in 1851, so we can rule them out of living with him?

Possibility for 1851 - the father John would not be at home though  HO107 Piece 2360 Folio 647 Page: 15 - Drypool Kingston Upon Hull

Richard Coates  12 Born Drypool Hull, Yorkshire
Ann Coates  7 Born Hull, Yorkshire

The above would fit with this 1841 Family in Drypool Hull.

I think that's the family Sandra. In 1861 John is described as a mariner, so possibly he was at sea when the census was taken.

I can't find George Coates in 1851, but I can't see a death either.

This was the birth of George Coates -  15 October 1840 Drypool Hull.

There was a possible death redg for George Coates - Sculcoates - December 1842 - 22 - 307 and another in March 1844 -  22-368
(of course no ages so hard to tell if either belonged to this family)
