The marriage of Richard Gallagher and Ellen Clarke

I am unable to find any record of the marriage of Richard Gallagher and Ellen Clarke. I know that the couple were resident in Derry, as Richard died at his residence, 65 William Street, Derry city, on January 13th 1903. He is described as being from 'old Derry stock' in his obituary in the Derry Journal. His widow, Ellen, and their children, are recorded as residing at William Street, in the 1901 census, and at Lone Moor Road in the 1911 census. The earliest birth record that I have been able to find for any of their children is for Francis Gallagher, who was born in Derry city on July 22nd 1870.

Any help locating this marriage would be greatly appreciated!!!

Did you get Ellen's maiden name from one of the children's birth certs?

This is from Family Search - the reference numbers match but completely different surname for Ellen

The 1901 shows them as 48 and 47 respectively so birthyears 1852/3 and 1853/4

If their first child was born 1870 - they must have married very young

In 1911 the census has been filled out incorrectly which is good news- married 33 years, 9 children/7 living.

Hi, an addendum to one of the births of Ellen Clarke. On one its listed that she was baptised in Portrush. Portrush is actually in co Antrim but in the records it says the baptism was in Portrush,co Derry just to clear that up.Kim

The civil marriage record should list names and occupations of both fathers which may determine if any of the baptism records are possibilities.

This one unlikely given Co. Down is nowhere near Derry-

Also unlikely to have been baptised in Belfast-
Richard Gallogher, bap:24 March 1856, St Patricks,Belfast,co Antrim, parents:Charles Gallogher & Ellen Mooney

Both Richard & Ellen are shown as born Derry City (1901 and 1911) and all the Ellen Clarke baptisms are outside this area.

I've not been able to find the marriage of Richard and Ellen on GRONI; I looks like it wasn't registered.
The information from the baptismal record transcriptions is potentially useful, as there are a lot of Clarkes recorded as godparents, and it is the Clarke family that I am particularly interested in. The Patrick Clarke, who is mentioned as the godparent of Mary Gallagher in 1872, possibly married Margaret McDaid in Derry on September 7th 1885. Could anybody please tell me the name of Patrick Clarke's father?
