William R. L. Hannam
« on: Monday 18 May 15 19:22 BST (UK) »
I have a potential relative, a William Ray Lasselles Hannam. From his Will in the name of William Hannam dated 19th Aug 1814 I discovered that his "Acknowledged" wife was Charlotte Guest and that he was an Attorney working from Piazza Chambers, Covent, Garden.

On 15th June 1820 William Hannam married Charlotte Guest at St Brides, Fleet St using his full name on the record entry.

In June 1823 William Hannam died noted as living at James St, Covent Garden aged abt 55. His wife Charlotte paying his death duties and noted as living at 27 James St, Covent Garden.

I cannot find any birth for his or parents or other family, can anyone help?

Thanks   Steve
Hannam in London, Nottinghamshire and Sheffield
Collins in Staffordshire
Brackenbury, Gurnell and Willson in Lincolnshire and now Nottinghamshire
Marples in Derbyshire and Yorkshire
Heginbotham in Derbyshire

There is an Article of Clerkship for a William Hannam filed on 6th July 1793, with attorney Mordaunt Atkinson, in London

Do you know if this is your man?

There are births for William Hannah born around 1768 - could he have added the middle names for various reasons?

1811  London and Country Directory:

'William Hannam, solicitor and general agent for the West India Islands and actuary to the masonic society, Piazza Chambers, Covent garden, 21/2 guineas* '

No use of middle names.

Thanks chempat
Yes I think they are the right person, the dates match, he did work out of Piazza Chambers.  There is also another document on-line (Ancestry) dated 1800 relating to William Hannam which I do not understand, it seems to have something to do with Williams indenture.
