Hilary, there is a possible source of information here, 4th last entry.

https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/46107/page/12514/data.pdf

Regards

Malky

The entry was placed by the solictors as he had died without a will.

Hilary, are you just trying to find out where a missing branch of your family is now living or something else?

Dawn, I actually contacted the solicitors and they replied. Of course they won't give out details due to privacy (I doubt they would have up to date details after 42 years) but instead they suggested I obtain the will. Interesting when there wasn't a will!

"Thank you for your enquiry via the website.

Unfortunately we would not be able to disclose such information because of client confidentiality.  What I would suggest is that you apply online to get a copy of the Will, which may provide you with some names of Beneficiaries or indeed, family.

You are can use this website and I believe they will charge you £10 : https://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate

I hope this helps."

I am trying to contact any of the children.
Thanks, Hilary

Dawn,
Looking at the website which the solicitors mentioned I did not find any references to the Richards family in 1973. Both the husband and wife died the same year. Neither left a will it would seem.
The law firm only keep records for 8 years and then they're destroyed. It was worth a try though.
