I know that John is consistent with his place of birth as Lewisham on census and his marriage in Lewisham 1830 gives them both of the parish but I wonder why it has Caterham, Surrey before Johns signature and Lewisham, Kent before Marys  ???  Other marriages around the same time are also giving alternative places in this manner even though they state otp.

Thanks Rosie
I'd guess that is an error since Mary was baptised at Caterham in January 1809. John doesn't feature in the Caterham PRs

Could you give me the full marriage details please. I don't have access to Ancestry.
