Thankyou for all the replies. Scouseboy, Unfortunately, I don't have his service number, all I have are two telegram type greetings messages sent back home, one dated 8.5.43 and giving his address as
214 Tipper coy. RASC  HQ Platoon  B.N.A.F
and the other dated 15.11.43 and his address was
214 Transport (tipper) Coy. RASC   C.M.F

Hi.

Yes I have googled them today and found that CMF is Central Mediterranean Forces, They invaded Italy in September 1943.

I have not looked at it for several years,  but there used to be ( IIRC )   an RASC or Royal Logistics Corps  web site/ forum.    Try searching for that.
