Thank you Jamcat :)

If I can ask for another favour. This seems like a real good candidate for my Sweris. The best way to determine if it really could be him is to determine if this Sverus married or was buried in Sweden. Are you in any way able to narrow down if this occurred?

I'll see what I can find. I have though found this Sverus parents deaths. Unfortunately the household examination books start around 1785.

I'll get back to you.

Thanks Ian :) you are a star,

Familysearch has this death for a Petersson who was born in 1750 but no name is given. If this is him it would rule him out.

I have found a few children on familysearch. The following were baptised by Peter Roding and Maria Egnell:

Theodora Petersdotter
born: 13 Oct 1749
baptised: 15 Oct 1749
died: 12 Feb 1750
buried: 14 Feb 1750

Sverus Petersson
born: 19 Oct 1750
baptised: 21 Oct 1750

Johannes Petersson
born: 28 Nov 1751
baptised: 1 Dec 1751
died: 27 May 1752
buried: 31 May 1752

Catharina Petersdotter
born: 1 Jul 1753
baptised: 3 Jul 1753

The next lot of children were born earlier in Varberg, but the baptism only lists their father as Peter Roding and lists no mother so I cannot be certain that they are also this couple's children:

Gierthrud Elisabeth Petersdotter
born: 15 Nov 1741
baptised: 16 Nov 1741

Johannes Petersson
born: 28 Nov 1751
baptised: 1 Dec 1751
died: 27 May 1752
buried: 31 May 1752

Carl Magnus Petersson
born: 25 Jan 1744
baptised: 29 Jan 1744
died: 20 Mar 1744
buried: 23 Mar 1744

Peter Petersson
born: 14 Feb 1745
baptised: 17 Feb 1745
died: 14 Apr 1745
buried: 17 Apr 1745

Casper Petersson
born: 14 Sep 1747
baptised: 16 Sep 1747
died: 9 Nov 1747
buried: 12 Nov 1747

Matthias Petersson
born: 31 Aug 1748
baptised: 2 Sep 1748
died: Jun 1750
buried: 7 Jun 1750

There may have also been a second child named Carl Magnus
Carl Magnus Petersson
born: 1746
died: 25 Jun 1746
buried: 27 Jun 1746

I took a look and it says:
Hat maker Master Petersson 44 years old.
