BTW

On rootsireland just do a search on the church in Lavey ONLY.

It's been a while since I had a sub with them but try the following

~ Put a (0 'Zero') in against the christian name for a baptism (this throws up ALL names)

~ put in McGill for the surname (it still shows variants of spellings I've been told)

~ then put Joseph in against the father's name

~ Leave the year blank

See then can you see another Joseph having children in the parish as near as possible to when Sarah was born ~

You won't find Sarah but you might find a possible siblings of hers born during the years when records WERE available for that church !

thank you so much for all your help.  I really appreciate it.

The rootsireland people must have changed their way of letting people search as there is no way it will let me access records without multiple pieces of info (ie year, as well as surname) even on the county search.

Sure while you have the sub keep playing around with it ~

Just stay in the Lavey church records and see what crops up ~ look at everything, see can you find more McGills as Godparents at Baptisms, or witness' at marriages ~ anything that will give you leads !

Best Of Luck
