Johann Ludwig Frederick Voigt arrived in New York on September 27, 1856 on the ship Agnes. He was born on 12-6-1821 and christened on 12-25-1821 in Sankt Georgen, Belin STADT Brandenburg, Prussia. His parents were Johann F. Voigt and Carolina Henriette Mente. He traveled to America alone. He was 34 years old and a widower.
He married Johanna (Annie) Elizabeth Balzer in Manhattan, NY on June 10,1862. He was 41 and she was 31. On February 17, 1863 she gave birth to a son, Wilhelm.
Wilhelm married Pauline Effinger (originally VonEffinger) on November 18,1888.
There issue were: William (1893), Dorothy(1896), Alice(1897), Pauline(1901), Mary(1902), Warren(1905), Jennie(1906) and Helen(1909).
Wilhelm died July 15, 1921 and is buried at Linden Hill Cemetery in Ridgewood, NY.
William Eugene Voigt was born 12-2-1893 and died 2-16-1986 in South Carolina and is buried next to his wife, Margaret Scott Voigt in Live Oak Cemetery, Walterboro, South Carolina

Actually William died 2/16/1983. I have info on that!! Also when did Johann pass away? Any ideas?

There was also a daughter born 1858, because I am in touch with her great great grandson.

Yes. William e voigt did die in 1983. A few minutes before my first son was born.

 I am not aware of another child born 1858. This would have been before his marriage to annie blazer. Don't know when Johann died but I'm still researching

The daughters name was Marie A Voigt born 1858 and I believe they got married in 1855

John lived with Marie her family in Newark NJ in 1910 he was 80 at that time her last name was Roder.

Johann voigt didn't arrive in America until 1856 so I doubt this is the same voigt family. And ny marriage  records indicate Johann ( john) and johanna (annie) married 6-10-1862

I am in touch with my 4th cousin, who is the great great grandson of Marie A Roder (nee Voigt).
