I believe that Anders Gustaf Lindquist, their father was a prolific writer of hymns.

Do you know anything regarding that?

There is an Anders Gustaf Lindqvist who wrote hymns but your Anders isn't him.

Here are the records for Gustaf Albert and Nils Jacob leaving Sweden to USA:

Gustaf Albert left for USA on 26 Aug 1879 and returned on 9 July 1883.
Nils Jacob left for USA 21 March 1882 and returned 9 June 1885 to then leave for Australia around 1886-1890.

Anders Fredrik Lindqvist was a labourer, school teacher and a writer.
There is a note in the books saying that he was in a teacher college and had problems with his hearing.
