I should add that my impression was that the Templepatrick records are not included in the McKinney Notebook. Ron only mentions the Carnmoney records in relation to the McKinney notebook as below.

In the case of the Carnmoney records, one of the clerks made a separate record of members  by family group with their births, baptisms , marriage and deaths. This is known as " the McKinney Notebook" and is the PRONI in Belfast. It has proved to be a help in sorting out the early families. I obtained a copy and it has helped me a lot over the years.

In an unrelated aside (or at least on my maternal line rather than my paternal Antrim families) I have several McMaster marriages in my Livingston family of Sligo . These McMasters only appear from the mid 1800 though so could have originated in Antrim. In fact now that I look again at my Ancestry tree, some of the McMasters have hints which might tell me more bout them.

Cheers

Linda

My great-great-grandmother Eliza McMaster was buried at Carmavey Burying Ground in 1871. Her husband John may also have been buried there in 1899. Does anyone know if there is a gravestone there?

Welcome to RootsChat, Buknoy  :)

According to FindaGrave https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2651898/carmavey-burial-ground, no McMaster plots have been recorded.

For others, here's the death record of Elizabeth McMaster who died on 1 October 1871 at Aughnamullan, Killead.

Thanks for the response. I had actually looked at FindaGrave before posting and, as you say, there is nothing there. However, I am confident she was buried there as I have a copy of a mourning card prepared for her funeral. Another poster on this thread said he/she had taken photos of some (or all?) the gravestones and I was hoping they might have something.

As far as I’m aware there are no more McMaster headstones than the three I mentioned a few posts ago.  However, I have since acquired a booklet of transcripts dated 1993 which has this:

Erected to the memory of John McMaster late of Aughnamillan, who departed this life 20th Decr. 1846 aged 79 years.  Also to his son Samuel, who died in infancy.  Also his wife Elizabeth McMaster who died 3rd January 1873.  Aged 90 years.

Erected by William John McMaster Belfast in loving memory of his wife Mary who died 6th July 1898 aged 52 years.  Also his son John who died 6th June 1878.  Also his son William John who died 27th May 1885.  Also my father John McMaster of Aughnamillian who died 21st April 1899 aged 85 years.  Also above William John McMaster who died 16th Sept. 1921 aged 78 years.  Also his eldest daughter Elizabeth who died 26th
[22nd*] February 1957.

Erected to the memory of James McMaster, Seacash who died 25th March 1857 aged 75 years.  Also of his wife Phoebe who died 14th March 1858 aged 74 years.  Also their children who died in infancy.  Also his son William John who died 3rd March 1864 aged 42 years.

*I think the date is 22nd going by my photo.

Thanks very much for this information. It would appear that John McMaster who died in 1899 mentioned in the second entry was my great-great-grandfather. Looks like I will have to pay a visit to Carmavey to take look if I ever make it back to Ireland.
