What does it say on 1911?

1911 details are not allowed to be posted due to copyright restrictions

You can use the following instructions to obtain details

USING THE FREE 1911 INDEX TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT HOUSEHOLD

http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx

Once you find a possible match - make a note of the county and district in which the person was living

Return to the index and in PERSONAL DETAILS - just put the surname of the family - nothing else

In LOCATION - Select the county and below it - type in the district

In OTHER MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD - show the full name of the person you have found on the index

Click SEARCH

The 1911 census is strictly pay per view so you will have to buy credits to view the full entry - the above instructions will only help to possibly show others of the same surname in the same household

You can check  birthplaces for free using GRU

I have Thomas born Swindon from a researcher? Maybe then this is wrong? regards Trish

Hi Trish,
I meant his year of birth. You have 1865 which is different to 1911 index.

In your thread here http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=722906.0 you have a different Constance/Connie. How sure are you that Constance Ivy is the right one?
It is odd that Thomas Woods doesn't seem to be in earlier censuses.
Carole found a possible marriage. You could try that for his father's details.

We were trying to find a link because my mother who is 86, believed that it was that Connie Creighton who was one of the adopted children. However on seeing Rose's will it became apparent that we were looking at the wrong Connie, & after contacting the person mentioned on Rose's will. Regards Trish

Thanks.

Did you ever follow up Rose's brother, Thomas?

He was born 1869, I think or 1870? Thomas Woods gives 1873 but your researcher gave you 1865.
Where did your researcher find him? As I say, I can only see him in 1911.

It is confusing isn't it, Trish.

I can only see one child from Worthy/Woods marriage. Is that right? You mention 4. She was born in 1934 so great aunt Rose would be 60 then.

There are deaths for William E Worthy and Constance Worthy in 1958 and 1961.

I am in contact with 3 of 4 children who are in their 70's now. They are much in the dark as I am. Rose had three siblings, Thomas b c1870, Annie & Alice. I believe Alice may have died as a child, so would welcome any info on the children, such as who they married etc of Emma Hazell formely Warren nee Frampton or Heath.
It might lead me to the connection between Rose & the children. I latched onto Thomas Wood, as he came from Swindon the same place as Rose. Regards Trish

Sorry to keep going on re clarification.

Perhaps you shouldn't mention the names of living persons. Are the people you are in contact with, the children who were adopted by Aunt Rose?

Also, are they the children of Constance Ivy?

If so, and you think Thomas is/ could be the link, then perhaps you should look at  the marriage mentioned earlier to see if that is Thomas.
Constance might have moved south independently as at least one of the family died in Northumberland many years later.

If you have the right children, with the right mother then you know that Thomas is their grandfather.

Maybe there is no link between the children and Rose or the connection to Rose maybe with their father.
You have said that the parents may have lived with Rose also - have the children confirmed this?
