I use the general notes tab for all such info.  There isn't a specific form for it.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

I put my census information into Legacy as a source for each person.

Joe,
I have been adding census info as an event.  I enter events by either:

1)  Underneath each name is a row of icons.  The icon that looks like two pieces of paper and a hand with a pen will get you to the individual's information

2)  Click on the name of the individual in the default view.  That will get you to the individual's information.

At the bottom of the Individual's information field is a field that list events/facts

Select "add" from the right hand side.  The "add event" box will come up.  You can select the event from a list or type the name which will move you towards what you are looking for.  There are a large number of optional and you can also create your own.  The only problem with creating your own is that they don't necessarily translate to other programs when you export your gedcom file.

If you are importing census information from www.familysearch.com (i.e. you have downloaded a gedcom of the census info), the census information will automatically be entered as an event.  For such imports you will have to manually join together the individuals from the gedcom.

Of course, the above is just one way of entering such information.  The other approaches suggested in this thread are perfectly valid ways of capturing the census information.

I hope that this is helpful.

Regards

Mark
