Joseph Moore - Stourbridge
« on: Saturday 09 July 05 21:03 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am looking for information on
Joseph Moore
he was born abt 1835 in Stourbridge, Worcestershire
I know that he was married to an Elizabeth (what was her maiden name?)
and that they had about 10 children.
I am having the hardest time though finding out who his parents were.
I would buy the marriage certificate, but I cant even find out which volume its in or page its on.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot

I found him in the 1871 census

living in St. Andrew, Worcestershire, born 1835/36

with

Elizabeth, born 1840 St. Peter, wife
Ann M, b 1870, daughter
Elizabeth, b 1866, daughter
George, b 1868, son
Joseph, b 1862, son
Thomas, b 1863, son

I can also find him in 1881 and 1891, he died before 1901 .. I cant find him before 1871 though

Possible of course, but it seems a little unlikely, given that Elizabeth would have been 13y at the time.

and the eldest 1871 kids, being named after their parents imply to (to me) to have been  the first-born from the marriage.

How about buying the birth cert of one of the kids?

yes, thats an idea. I ll have a look if I can find one. I tried to find the birth certificate details (volume/page etc) of his son Alfred (my great-grandfather) but couldnt find them. I ll have a look if I have more luck with one of the other children.
