I think you are being dismissive of research and advice posted on the thread.

Irene Mary obviously used both names or perhaps the person transcribing the information only wrote one of her given names except she is Irene M on the 1955 passenger list.

I repeat......

ROBINSON Charles Salkeld 43, Engineer; ROBINSON Mary 35, arrived Southampton on the CAPETOWN CASTLE , on 25 Mar 1950, from Durban, South Africa.  Address in UK Ashcroft Chatburn nr Clitheroe, Lancashire.  Country of last permanent residence, England.  Country of intended permanent residence, England.

ROBINSON Charles, dob 1 Feb 1907 Engineer; ROBINSON Irene M dob 19 Sep 1914 arrived Southampton on the ANDES on 8 Nov 1955 from Rio de Janiero.  Address in UK  Springfield, Spurstow nr Tarporley, Cheshire.

Hi All I will remedy a few errors on my Ancestry tree MichaelJordan385 we have not definitely identified who married Charles Salkeld Robinson.
You are not required to contact me if you are a cousin however I might well see if I can bring forward any interesting names on my tree.
There must be some way of providing the readers of RootChat with a handy list.
I will say that I would not be typing out longish messages if Ancestry was the fathomable search tool that it should be.
Thank you for your kind help Best wishes from Mike Jordan

Hi again a highly likely marriage?

Irene M E L Smith to Charles S ROBERTSON March qtr 1941 Cheltenham 6a 1119

Keyboard86

PS if you are truly serious in locating " Mary" this marriage is one you must purchase?!

Hi yes it is true, we have not located a marriage to a Charles Salkeld Robinson even though post 1911 the middle name will only provide an initial on Freebmd, I must admit two Irene M E L's marrying a Charles S Robertson/Robinson or even a third who died possibly as a spinster in Taunton as Robinson with exactly the same date of birth as the "Irene" who accompanied a Charles Robinson occ Engineer on various voyages is some coincedence, but possibly your cousins can provide a better idea of who she really was, as I ( and others) have clearly failed.

I see two other trees on Ancestry have/had Charles Salkeld Robinson marrying an Alice Caroline Cannon in March qtr 1932 Brentford, luckily one of them was willing to listen to the fact that on an Electoral Roll for Ealing Alice C was with a Charles STANLEY Robinson, just shows you the purchase of that certificate could have saved them an awful lot of backtracking to clear the Charles Salked from their tree, and replace with Charles Stanley.

All the best.

PS the 1930 voyage to SA can now be ignored, in fact it was Charles J 70 and Charles S 23 eg C S not with a wife.

I have done quite a lot of transcribing for UKBDM and some of the local registrars' handwriting was appalling and at times quite difficult to decipher.  If you search just using their given names this is the only result.    I would suggest there has been mistranscription from the local register in the quarterly returns.

If you are so reluctant to purchase any certificates to validate the research then perhaps you should have a search of the newspapers of the day for any mention of the marriage.

Hi All sorry I never knew there was an alternative source of registered documents - any certificates I have previously ordered were priced £22 and obtained through Ancestry.co.uk (on which site I am MichaelJordan385).
I think I will check out http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ for Charles Salkeld Robinson's mentioned marriage/ not finding a Miss Smith registered as born on 19/09/1914 does cause me concern.
I am a beginner when it comes to putting things together- thank you and due regards from Mike Jordan

You won't find the exact date in the Sep quarter or if the parents didn't register that quarter but did so in the Dec quarter

The link is for purchasing certificates not 'checking out'.

Take your pick :).
