Thank you Val,

Really kind of you and a photo of the WW2 names would be lovely!

Well done with the work on the names on the memorial. I have been involved in a similar project in our village here in Derbyshire.

James' Dad, Robert, was the brother of my maternal Granny (I have never got the hang of relationships once you get past 'cousin'). I have newspaper entries about his death in WW2 and a photo of his gravestone in Montecchio War Cemetery. If the research team would be interested in them I'd be more than pleased to pass them along.

It would be great if you could send me anything you hVe on your relative. I help to run Belford Hidden History Museum in our village and we are always on the lookout for info and ESP photos etc of people connected with the village. We have a website - check it out!

That's the museum which is on my list to visit this summer - weather permitting!

Re Gunner James Cairn
I have taken some new photos which are attached. I also checked some Belford church registers but no Nairn names.

Thank you so much for those Val, they are super!

and thanks for checking the registers for Belford, though the previous generation seemed to have used Bamburgh St Aidan for baptisms and marriages. I can't check Bamburgh for this generation as the baptism register from 1902 onwards is still held by the church.
