The Topic Completed Button
« on: Wednesday 08 July 15 12:06 BST (UK) »
Hiya all,

I was just wondering which of you eagle-eyed RootsChatters have spotted the "Mark Topic as Completed" button at the bottom of the topics that they have started?

If you press it, the topic is marked as being completed by placing a green tick next to the topic title.

Trystan

Edited: I've now pressed the "Mark Topic As Completed" to show what it looks like.

Definitely noticed the green ticks seem to mean complete, haven't started a topic for a while myself though

No... someone removed a lot of them from my profile at some stage, don't know who, as they didn't have the decency to inform me.

I know where it should be... and where the Edit button should be but they are definitely not there..

If I make a typo I have to repost!

Hi, know about the button but am at a bit of a loss as to why its there.  Sounds silly I know but if it doesn't stop people posting against that topic why does the topic need to be closed?  I'm not explaining this very well but if people continue to post after the OP has done the green tick (and I don't think there is any indication within the actual thread of when the green tick kicked in) what is the point in closing the topic?

This question is irrelevant if it does prevent posts but as I seem to see green tick topics go round and round the unread posts board my assumption is it doesn't.
