marriage lookup at Abingdon BEISLEY/BAILEY
« on: Wednesday 22 July 15 00:28 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find a marriage at Abingdon between Joseph BEISLEY and Elizabeth BAILEY in 1817. If someone has access to the parish records would it be possible to look up and let me know the date and any other details on the record?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Maddy,
I have the transcripts for Abingdon St.Helens (issued by the Oxfordshire FHS on CD OXF-AB01) and their entry reads;

30-10-1817 Beisly Joseph (Beasley by clerk) to Elizabeth Bailey
No opther info listed.
I did look for a baptism of either but nothing stood out in either St.Helens or St.Nicholas

Hope this helps

Thank you so much ribbo39! That helps a lot, shame there wasn't any other info like witnesses.

(I wasn't sure whether Abingdon came under Berkshire or Oxfordshire, so I'm glad you saw this post.)

Thanks too for looking for baptisms. I haven't seen the transcript myself yet, and I'd like to confirm it before I accept as fact - but I have seen a reference that they were both baptised in Warborough, so that's my next step.

Thanks again!
