Baptised 21 October 1857, East Barnet, Herts.

Died aged 11.  Death registered Sep qtr 1868 Croydon.

Buried at Highgate Cemetery on 2 September 1868.  Home address: 3 South Grove, South Norwood.

Alfred  A Lindgren married martha Cassells on the 14 June 1885 at St Hilda's South Shields.
His marriage cert states he was a Seaman at this time and his father was Gustan Lindgren a Blacksmith by trade .

the image of this certificate appears in the DIVORCE record of the above Alfred A Lindgren and Martha Cassells on (Ancestry) Alfred filed for divorce on the 23 June 1902 Decree Nisi granted 8 Aug 1902 and Final Decree was granted on the 16 Feb 1903

his wife was proved to have had a long term affair with a William Montgomery.

There was no issue ( children to the couple)

Thanks.  I'll follow this up.  Any idea why Adolphus Lindgren isn't mentioned in the 1881 census?

First thought is that his work as a merchant meant he travelled (domestically and/or overseas) so was not home on census night.  But of course on that one night he could have been absent from home for all sorts of reasons.
