Yes that was Kilmuir.  Also I show Lauchlain was born in 1834.

I seem to be stuck at this point.  I am not able to find any records about any of the siblings that mention the same parents.  And Samuel and Mary don't appear on any other census records for the area.  Any suggestions on how to proceed?

I think he was a widower when he married Mary

1871 census has a possible for him with wife Margaret and son Samuel aged 13

But in 1841 he was married to Mary and living in Kilmuir?  (30 years previous) And 1871 he would be 85.

I'm talking about Laughlin being married to a Margaret before his marriage in 1874

My theory is....................

The children listed on 1841 were grandchildren  ???

There seems to be too big a gap in Samuel's yr of birth 1786 & 1st child (on census) born 1826.......
which would mean he was 40 before starting a family  ???

I think there was probably a son named Samuel who was the father of those children  ???

Older children could have left home by 1841

There are some double names  ???

1901 Canadian Census

Laughlin states he arrived n Canada 1841 so he must have went with his parents
