Hi,

In the memorial inscription booklet from Gwynedd FHS for St Thomas Church, Llandwrog, there is a reference to an Alice Jones in grave E032 -

Er Cof Am/Alice Jones/Anwyl ferch/Thomas ac Ellinor Jones/Tirion Pelum, Llandwrog/Yr hon a fu f Rhagfyr y 5ed 1876/Yn chwe mlwydd oed

Lilian gwyn a'm tyn i o'm tu
O garchar y ddaear ddu
I ddydd y farn mi ddeus i.

There is no sign of Thomas - but there are quite a few graves without any inscription. This applies to both adjoining graves E031 and E033. Also there is no mention of the place name Brynmenai in the place names shown in the booklet.

Was Alice their daughter? Do you have details of when/where Ellen died?

Alan

Hi
Thanks for the reply,I just looked at the 1871 census and there is no sign of Alice with Thomas and Ellen/ Elinor.I can't find a baptism for Alice or her on the 1871 census. Thomas was born in Llanllechid  he had 4 children there with Ellen ( 1854 - 1858 ) then one child in Llanwnda ( 1864 ) and one in Llandwrog 1877

Hi Wayne,

There is no immediate sign of Jane Jones within the age range and her details have not been added to the inscription details on E032

Both the adjoining graves E031 and E033 are without inscription information.

Sorry

Alan
