Whatever happened to Clara Westwood?
« on: Thursday 06 August 15 04:13 BST (UK) »
 ???

I'm trying to track down Clara Westwood, born 11 Apr 1856 in Howard's Place, Birmingham; baptised at St. Jude's in B'ham 8 Jun 1856. Her parents were Henry Westwood, cordwainer (1819-1871) and Harriet (née Wild; 1819-1904). Clara is with her family in the 1861 and 1871 censuses at 71 Howard's Place and 103 Lichfield Street, both Birmingham, respectively. After that I lose her....

No further census, marriage or death records seem to match her that I can find, so now I am stumped as to where to look.

Appreciate any help!

Thanks to you all,

For some reason I did not consider the Kidderminster marriage. Probably because there was a Clara Westwood born in Kidderminster in 1856 as well, and I assumed that was her marriage. But the census seems to indicate Clara was born Birmingham (are they all consistent in this?) so she may well be the lady I'm looking for...

Hi Jan,

Another one to think about! How can we determine whether this single lady in '91 or Mrs. Lloyd is my Clara?

The 1912 death I believe is another woman altogether, as there is a widowed Clara Westwood around the same age in Birmingham as well, who is not mine, as she was not a Westwood by birth...

Toban      My  apologies     I've  just  realised   the 1912   death    is   way off   for  a 1856  birth !    I'm  hopeless  at maths  , but  that  error was  plain  daft  !  ::)
Have  you  checked the  1911  census  ?   maybe    just  using  her  birth  year  and  place  of  birth  and  first  name ?   I know that  may be  a  bit of  a job  ,  but   may work
