Aussie girl where did you source the information that he married in 1917.....I am always curious where people find info...was it from an online family tree perhaps....if so can you please post the link and perhaps you or I can notify the owner that it is incorrect.

Because that is what you are setting out to discover.

It is actually the point of Family History Research.

Important to get it right, I think, seeing as you have begun some inquiries.

One of the questions is...
   
What is the source of your currently held information.

Those trying to help in this  forum  attempt to clearly note the source for information offered.

It is expected that you, as a person inquiring, would do the same because information can then be double- checked and  cross- checked. It may then be verified, or (quite commonly!) discounted.
