I can see an announcement in the Cork Examiner announcing a son at Belfast on 18 July 1845 to the lady of Richard J. Moore, Supervisor of Excise.

Edited to add: Same notice in a Galway newspaper.

hi my name is amanda sweeney (nee wright).  their daughter Sarah Amelia Moore was my 2 x great grandmother.  her son horace james ellis born birmingham my great grandfather, his son leonard frederick ellis my grandfather.
richard john moore was my 3 x great grandfather and is buried in the cemetery next to where i lived for over 30 years (only found this out recently).
Sarah who married alfred pond (i think ran off with my 2 x great grandfather Joseph William Donaldson and they added the surname Ellis.  i can find no record of a marriage for them).  he was from london and was a painter and decorator , on the 1881 census for birmingham there is a sarah amelia ellis with a joseph willliam donaldson ellis, their son joseph william donaldson and her daughter from her marriage to alfred.  i am hoping some dna from the  donaldson side can prove this .

Hi Amanda,
Thanks for writing. That will make us 5th cousins through our mutual 4th great-grandparents (Richard Moore's parents) Captain John Moore of the RN, in Galway.
George
