Hello

GEORGE HOOD Born BONDEN, Yorkshire Served in 1st Foot Guards; Yorkshire Militia Discharged aged 40. TNA, Kew, file Date: 1793 to 1814.

Any information please about him and birthplace? Anything in the Army List, etc?

You refer to the NA record, have you located him on any muster list (don't want to duplicate anything you may have).

Thank you very much for all the responses.

So Bonden on the TNA, Kew, catalogue is not a catalogue spelling error.

At 40 years of age, he is going to be too old, if 40 was George Hood's age in 1814?

I ought to look at the Muster Lists, to see if there might be any more George Hood's. I found an 1814 Navy List online for free pdf download, although scanning is poor in places.

Sorry, too old for what, I seem to have missed something.  (The soldiers in the three extracts seem to be two men, one from the 10th Foot (the 2nd and 3rd extract) and the one from the 1st Foot (Grenadier Guards) that came from Bonden.  The Grenadier appears to have enlisted in 1800.
