I know John was a footman to Lady Melville who lived in London and Devon.

I have various records on John and Ann, but no reference to his parents.

John has a brother call James Frederick Toole who was born in London.

It maybe possible that his birth being recorded as in Devon is false as he did live on Devonshire street. Considering he and his brother were born only a few years apart.

Any ideas? It could be plausible that the father or mother worked for lady melville as well, this would explain the two births at opposite ends of the country?
