Brilliant!

I have just had a look at a few other records of hers, which now make sense.

Now to find her parents.

If both her both and marriage were in Axbridge district, I would expect to find her in same area in 1911. she would be approx 3 years old so ought to be with parents. Don't you have her father from marriage cert?

This can be marked as closed now.

I have found Gladys's family

Having a closer look at the 2 possible families of the same name it turns out they are the same family. It just happens that Axbridge used to be the district and weston super mare a town, now it is actually north somerset as the county, weston super mare as the district and axbridge as the town/village. (These locations are only 10 minutes from me).

So when you look at the addresses they are all from a tiny town called Rooksbridge, Axbridge, Weston Super Mare, england, UK... a mouthful, so they were shortened.

There was luckily then a probate record of the grandparents giving the house to Gladys's spouse Leonard.

So this is nicely tucked up.

You're confusing towns, parishes and Registration Districts!

Axbridge, as a parish was in the Registration District of Axbridge from 1837 until 1936.
From 1936 it was in the Registration District of Weston-Super-Mare.

Rooksbridge itself is a village within the parish of East Brent.
The parish of East Brent was also in Axbridge RD until 1936, and then in W-S-M RD.

Either way, my naming of semantics, we have the correct person :)

Confirmed by the will/probate mentioning the relative we knew at the address etc.

Thank you!
