Sussex Heathers - can't find anything - help please!
« on: Friday 21 August 15 21:15 BST (UK) »
All of this info is according to the 1911 census which, as far as I can tell, Thomas filled out himself? The writing on it matches the signature - so it SHOULD be accurate, but I'm not finding anything other information based on this info.

Thomas Heather was born about 1866 in Worthing, Sussex.  He married a Kate Mary who was born in Well, Somerset in about 1898.  In 1911 they were living at 20 Flood St in London.  They were at the same location in the 1901 census.

They had a number of children, at least one of which I think may be from a previous marriage who showed up on the 1901 census, but not the 1911 one.

Bessie (1893)
Thomas (1900)
William Ernest (1901)
Edith Mary (1903)
Emily Harriet (1906)

I'm finding a Bessie Blanche Heather in later years who matches the date of birth, but not the birth location - and I can't find any of the rest of the kids.  Any advice?

Cheers!
Amanda Heather (nee Orr)

The son Thomas born 1900 Peckham I think is in a school in 1911 - just search with his name and DOB.

Looks as though their son Lewis was registered as Louis G Heather, Sep qtr 1910 Chelsea.  He and William Ernest were with Kate at 58 Jeffreys Rd, Kennington in late-1930s electoral rolls.  Kate was at that address by 1929, Edith listed with her.

Kate is traceable with William Ernest in electoral rolls in Kennington/Lambeth until the mid 1950s.  There is a possible death for her as Kate Heather in Lambeth, Sep qtr 1956 aged 83.

Yes, Louis' birthdate in the register of 27.8.10 shows he was born on the day of her admission.
