Foxton marriage - 1647
« on: Tuesday 25 August 15 05:59 BST (UK) »
Hi Folks

I've found a marriage on Boyd's Marriage index stating that Mary Parker married at Foxton in 1647.
I also have a scrap of paper that says the date was actually 8 September 1647. Afraid to say that I have lost the source for the actual date of the marriage. :-[

Anyone able to confirm this date or point me in the direction of the "original" or at least a possible transcript please?

Thanks

D

It's not on the extracted part of the IGI but the date you show is on the member submitted IGI, which I don't regard as a reliable source. You need to check the microfilm at your nearest LDS Family History Centre, or use Cambridge Archives Research Service to check it for you, or purchase the CD from Cambs FHS

Thanks BB

I'm sure I wouldn't have accepted a date from a submitted entry as a reliable source so think the early Foxton marriages must be online somewhere else.

At least someone somewhere has the same date as I had and I didn't just imagine it  ;D

Appreciate your help

Thanks for confirming the Foxton marriage Selina

Could you please tell me where the Foxton Marriage transcriptions are available online?

I really appreciate your help - nice to know I wasn't dreaming the date  :D

As far as I can see Foxton parish register transcriptions are only online from slightly a slightly later date than you wanted - 1678 Burials, 1694 Marriages and 1695 Baptisms at freereg.org.uk

I have the Foxton transcript.

Best wishes,
Selina

Thanks for confirming the source Selina

I have been through the records on freereg and noted the later dates so couldn't work out where I'd found the actual date.

Oh well - great to know it's correct.

Cheers
