Dylys Jones b,31/10/1915

Hi all, I am struggling to find my wife's nan and anything about her parents apart from their surname. My wife has said that her nan was born in Rhymney, Wales and I think may have been registered in Bedwellty but as yet have no evidence to prove this. As for her parents, her moms maiden name we believe was Matthews and that is where the brick wall lies. Any help/hints to get past would be gratefully appreciated.

Alan ???

You could send for her birth certificate to get full names of her parents  :)

Dec 1915
Bedwellty 11a 266
Jones Dylys

Mothers maiden name for this birth is Matthews as you thought.

There is a male Jones female Matthews marriage in Bedwellty before her birth but impossible really to say if it's the right couple without confirming her parents names.

Just in case
Dec 1914
Bedwellty
Rowland Jones
Margaret Matthews
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

I've now found 4 marriages in Bedwellty prior to her birth, thats if they were from Bedwellty. I reckon your first idea is going to be the only way.

Thanks
