« on: Tuesday 01 September 15 10:50 BST (UK) »
Could i please request an enhancement on this photo which i believe to be taken outside the Beresford st Congregational church auckland NZ 1875-1885 (my own conclusion)

If there is any slueth out there who can help find who this gravestone might belong to
i would appreciate any thoughts.

thanks so much for trying but I think that is the best that can be done.

I am thinking that this might be a memorial service .

it would have taken some time to build this monument,so he could have had it commissioned prior to hid death but I am not sure that is likely

Hi, why don't you try scanning this photo at a higher resoloution, 600dpi, and repost for another try.  The arched sign on the right side, the top word, around the arch says "congregational" but as I say the pic may clean up better if rescanned, regards, John

I'm not sure this is the Beresford Street Congregational church.
There are many pictures of it on Google and not one picture shows a tombstone in front of it.
The photo you have posted shows a window on the right side almost at head height with room for the Congregational sign underneath it, but the photo below of Beresford street church shows this window is much lower and no room for a sign.
It is now known as Hopetown Alpha and is a Conference centre and there are only two steps at the front, your photo shows three.
