Hi

Given that Walter was born in Liverpool then you need to ask the moderator to move this to the relevant board to get local help !

I've messaged to get the forum moved over.

I thought that was the case but even if she died in the third quarter it does not explain why I can't find her or her family on any of the 61 censuses. Thank you for the information anyway, small steps and I'll get there eventually =)

I've sent a message about getting this moved to the Lancashire page but nothing has happened. Not sure what else I can do about that.

However I now have the Marriage Record for James and Johanna. I haven't been able to find any records of them in Ireland so any help would be appreciated as I haven't done any Irish research before.

James Skelton 29 (b.1824) Labourer son of Walts (poss Walter) Skelton Labourer
Johanna Doyle 25 (b.1829) daughter of Murtha? Doyle Farmer

They married in Saint John's RC Church in Liverpool on the 11th April 1853.

The only lead I have to Ireland is that their son Walter appears as a 'Relative' to a Cullen/Culton family from Wexford in 1871.

Any help appreciated
Ieuan

The 1861 death was an infant death but the record is in Latin as it was a Catholic burial at St Oswalds

Died 26.8.1861 - Johannes Skelton of Napier St - infant - buried 27.8.1861

A Walter Skelton.

This would be the timeline for him to be YOUR Walter's grandfather !

Walter Skelton Newtownbarry.

Nli.is for that parish only begins in 1834 so too late to find James.

rootsireland don't have the parish at all.

I suggest you go through the parish though as you may find a later sibling to James.
