Peter Hampson 1861 and anything else please

Am wondering where 8 year old Margaret Hampson/Kyle is in 1871?

Ah, yes,  had a look &  - I think she is HAMPSON with some WILSONS??  in Lancashire. The Census quality is quite bad - just having a go at working it out, will post details anon!

(On second thoughts, might not be her if she was a KYLE in 1871, but still will post)

Maybe not WILSONS either?

By heck. it looks like you have found sister Naney (Ann) baptised 1828 in Hesketh. Mum was Margaret nee Rimmer. Margarets and Johns marriage at OPC is under Thompson. Brother Thomas has a mother in law named Jemima Wilson
Oppps in  1861 Annie is living with Mum and brother Thomas and an 8 year old grandson James at 120 Portland Street

Woo     so they are WILSONS?  I've been looking sideways and upsidedownways....

If so, that would make the M-In-Law there, Margaret HAMPSON, Peter's mother? She was 47 in 1851 so that would fit being 67 in 1871?

And to boot Annie is listed as unmarried in 1861. Unless Jemima and Anne/Jane are from an earlier marriage by Mr Wilson
Yes I was looking at that marriage the other day as a highly likely. 15 Dec 1867 at St Jude West Derby. right fathers with right jobs. Thomas was a railway officer and widower

Crikey I have to get up in 5 hours  Seeing as you are so good at this, can you see (probably) Nanney's boy James Hampson who in 1861 was 8 and born in Liverpool . But having said that, the obvious baptism at OPC would have have him being closer to 10.

Luckily I can Sleep in a bit  tomorrow (later this morning!)   - once Suzanne Paul comes on the tele though,  I'll be off to bed   

Will have a look and see if  I can see James.

So just to get my head in order:   that 1861 Census  of WILSONs  just above there -  the daughter  Jane WILSON  the one who married Thomas HAMPSON, Peter's  younger brother?  So two HAMPSON siblings Ann (Nanney) & Thomas married two WILSON Siblings, Thomas & Jane?

Was that baptism in the Lanc OPC, St John the Evangelist, Abram, Lancashire on 26 Feb 1851 of James HAMPSON, son,  bp of Ann HAMPSON Spinster, Abode Abram?

That babe died, Burial on 9 Apr 1851 St John the Evangelist, Abram, Lancashire, England
James Hampson, age 6 weeks, Abode Abram.

Could James  not be Annie's, but rather belong to one of her brothers?
